Why do you need a HIP?

Unfortunately it is a legal requirement to have a HIP and you can't market your property without one. The HIP lets buyers see important information on the property at the start of the process, free of charge.
This means there is less chance of buyers becoming aware of any surprises at the end of the process that can cause delays and extra expense to the buyer and seller.

HIP are required wether selling, renting or exchanging your property as it will need to be marketed. You may find you already have a HIP for your property if it has been marketed for sale or rent on or after 14th December 2007.You will need to check with the agent who is marketing your property.

If you don't have one don't panic. There are a host of people advertising HIP packs in you local paper or on the web and you will normaly save on the cost as well.
